Homey

Homey app on iPhone and iPad on desk
description

This home automation app was my final project in the usability and user experience course I took at Netcraft. Most of the systems used in the modern automation hubs are hard to understand and use, and sometimes may cause undue stress. Homey was designed to be more friendly and intuitive allowing you to control the different appliances in your home all in one place.

Dashboard

The main screen of the app is a dashboard which gives the user all the important information he needs at a glance. The mobile version accommodates the different context of use emphasizing alerts and info that are more relevant when you're not at home. The design is based on calming colors using orange instead of red for alerts to avoid causing unnecessary discomfort.

Homey Animation Demo
Animation

In this project I really played with the animations in Axure creating a prototype that can really show the interactions with the app.

What I learned from this project

I really like solving problems and looking for the best solution possible. This is something I got a chance to do with this project and one of the things I love the most about UX.

Why don't we do something together?
